Lean Hogs

Lean hog futures are showing gains of $1.325 to $1.70 on Monday. The CME Lean Hog Index for 11/16 was down 55 cents to $65.42. The national base hog average price was 33 cents lower at $56.63 this morning. The USDA pork carcass cutout value was $2.08 higher at $83.04 in the Monday morning report. The picnic was the only cut that was reported lower, down 41 cents. The weekly USDA AMS hog slaughter report showed 2,473,000 through Saturday. That is down 22,000 from the previous week and 54,000 fewer than the same week in 2016, mainly on lower Saturday slaughter.

Dec 17 Hogs are at $62.225, up $1.575,

Feb 18 Hogs are at $68.775, up $1.700

Apr 18 Hogs are at $72.475, up $1.325
